Singapore, February 27, 2006 – The 13th edition of Asian Aerospace (AA) closed its doors yesterday with a record breaking event from all angles.
In total, more than 52,000 people were involved in the entire event; from the two-month pre-show build-up, to the week long AA2006 show, and what will be a two-week post-show tear-down. Comprising various contractors, service providers, exhibitors, visitors, official delegates, and conference attendees, they come from 112 countries, with more than 12,600 AA-registered individuals flying into Singapore for the event.
On the trade front, Asian Aerospace 2006 saw a 20% increase in participation, coming from a record 940 exhibitors from 43 countries, 153 official visiting delegations and 34,000 trade visitors from 99 countries. It had an all-time high order book of US$15.2 billion deals announced at the show, which was four and a half times more than that announced in AA2004.
On the public weekend, Asian Aerospace 2006 saw a record again, with 60,000 public visitors trawling the show grounds in fine weather conditions.
Mr Ed Ng, President of Asian Aerospace 2006 Pte Ltd, said: “We are all very happy with the event. Great results! We have been truly blessed. The solid results mark the months of hard work put in by all our partners, our customers and our staff. Again, we would like to thank everyone who has helped to make Asian Aerospace 2006 a wonderful success. In particular, I would like to thank my Board and directors for their strong support and guidance.”
